Power is managed by a 3" 4-layer black aluminum voice coil wound with OFC wire (made in USA) and specified to remain stable up to 240 degrees Celsius. The motor assembly uses a double-stacked 190 Oz high-quality magnet and a high BL magnetic motor gap for strong, controlled excursion. Built for durability and efficiency: the cast aluminum basket sports a black sanded finish to reduce weight while improving airflow. Termination is via two chrome-plated binding post terminals. The cone is an ultra-stiff black non-pressed paper design with red stitching cone reinforcement and a new ultra-stiff PolyPropylene (PP) dustcap. Surround is thick foam for minimal distortion and long life; the suspension uses a Nomex spider for enhanced tear resistance and reliability.
