Motorized 5.25" round in-ceiling speakers that drop down automatically when power is supplied to an amplifier or receiver with a 12V output, and retract flush with the ceiling when power is removed. Unlike conventional in-ceiling speakers that aim sound toward the floor (reducing high frequencies, vocal clarity and stereo imaging), QPD's motorized unit allows you to aim sound at the listening area for improved articulation and imaging. The motorized assembly offers four drop-down angle settings — 25°, 30°, 40° and 50° — via QPD's multi-angle dispersion for precise sweet-spot targeting. To prevent the loss and phase-shifting associated with open-back ceiling installations, the drivers are housed in their own enclosure so the speaker delivers a more focused sonic response and greater energy. The speaker connects to any amplifier or receiver using speaker wire or cat. 6 cable (each sold separately).
