Engineered for use with the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 58mm f/1.4G, this circular polarizing (CPL) filter features an ultra-slim aluminum frame that avoids vignetting while retaining full rotation capability for leveling adjustments. A nonslip upper rim makes installation, rotation and removal quick and secure. The glass carries double-sided, multi-layered coatings that are anti-oil, anti-dust, anti-soil, and resistant to scratches and water. As a circular CPL, it removes unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces like water and glass and enhances color and contrast. Commonly used to deepen blue skies and increase the saturation of white clouds, the filter works by arranging and filtering directionally polarized light perpendicular to the reflected light so much of that light is absorbed. The result is reduced haze in distant landscapes and richer, more vivid colors — with the strongest effect achieved at a 90° angle to the sun.
