This sound meter uses a single dynamic 30 ~ 130 db range to remove the need for manual range switching and avoid errors caused by range changes in auto-ranging instruments. All measurements are shown at once on a large, bright back-lit display with 0.1 dB resolution and an integrated bar graph. Data logging supports up to 31,000 automatic records for later download, and you can manually store and recall 99 readings on the meter’s LCD — each entry stamped with date and time. A bi-directional USB port plus included software let you download data and control the instrument remotely through an on-screen image of the meter. Accuracy is ±1.4 dB, meeting or exceeding the remaining specifications for an ANSI S1.4 and IEC 61672-1 Type 2 meter. Measurement and alarm features include A/C and fast/slow weighting, min-max capture, over/under alarms, AC or DC recorder output, and auto power-off. To calibrate in line with OSHA requirements use an Acoustical Calibrator. The package includes a foam-lined protective carrying case, windscreen, USB computer connection cable, software, instructions, calibration tool, and 4 AA batteries (about 30 hours of operation).
