This cold rolled steel round tubing is suitable for use in the transport of fluids and gases and use in automotive and HVAC applications. The tubing is welded and drawn over a mandrel for a smoother bore than non-drawn welded tubing and a more consistent wall thickness than seamless tubing. It is cold rolled for greater yield strength and hardness than hot rolled steel. This round tubing meets ASTM A513 specifications for quality and is suitable for use in applications such as in automotive air conditioning lines. DOM tubing is used for machinery, hydraulics, motorcycle frames, and bearings. This type of tubing creates a seamless connection, unlike a welded tube. DOM tubing provides a uniform wall thickness throughout. Because of this uniformity, DOM tubing offers really close tolerances for the outside diameter, inside diameter and the wall thickness. Easily welded by all welding processes including gas, air, and submerged arc, and the resultant welds and joints are of extremely high quality. Preheat and post-weld heating is generally not necessary. DOM tubes have great surface quality. They are free of oxide and scale with a smooth dense finish.
