Turn passive home-theater speakers into wireless speakers with the Amphony Model 480 receiver/amplifier. This unit accepts one of the four wireless audio channels transmitted by the Model 400 multi-channel audio transmitter (Model 400 sold separately) and streams that channel to a connected passive loudspeaker. The Model 480 houses a built-in power amplifier that connects directly to a passive speaker. Its amplifier delivers the efficiency expected from class-D designs while maintaining ultra-low audio distortion. A proprietary amplifier topology preserves a linear frequency response regardless of speaker load and performs very well in amplifier listening tests. Compact and easy to mount, the receiver measures 5" x 3.5" x 2" and installs directly on or near a speaker. Multiple Model 480 units can be paired with a single Model 400 transmitter, and you can mix Model 400 and Model 480 devices to fit your system layout. For example, purchase two Model 480 units plus one Model 400 transmitter to make two rear speakers and a subwoofer wireless, or use four Model 480 units to convert two rear and two side speakers to wireless. Additional receivers can be added later as needed.
