Azalea Karen, 3 gal, Live Evergreen Shrub, Partial Sun
Karen Azalea is an unusually hardy evergreen shrub with an upright mounding habit and narrow dark green leaves that turn brilliant burgundy in fall. The heavy blooms of rich lavender-purple flowers begin to bloom in spring, making this a very versatile plant. This azalea prefers partial sun with acidic, rich, well-drained soils and is hardy in USDA Hardiness Zones 4-9. Karen Azalea is low maintenance, with moderate water needs, and may be prone to some diseases and pest problems, but the proper environment and care should negate most of them. This shrub is suitable for a variety of landscape uses, including accents, borders, woodland gardens, wildlife gardens, naturalized areas, foundational plantings, hedges, and containers. Companion plants for Karen Azalea include other azaleas, Japanese maples, and camellias.
