Its compact, portable design is built for field use and quickly measures loose hay and windrow forage without the need to bale or chop large samples. To use, fill a 5gal. bucket with loose hay, insert the tester probe into the material and press the button. Readings are produced in 30 to 60 seconds, and the meter is suitable for hay moisture levels between 13% and 70 %. The unit operates on a 9V battery for simple, on-the-go testing.
