Power the vacuum off before handling the battery. Press and hold the battery release button, then pull the battery out of its compartment. To charge, slide the battery into the charging dock until it clicks, and plug the charger into a wall outlet. Remove the battery from the charger by sliding it out. When reinstalling, align the grooves on the battery with the grooves in the compartment and slide the battery in until it clicks into place.
