It measures 7 meter (23.2 foot) and contains 12 fiber strands in an Aqua Blue jacket. The fiber uses a 50/125 micron core for multimode transmission. The Plenum jacket is a fire-retardant plastic composed of either low-smoke polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or fluorinated ethylene polymer (FEP); many local building codes require Plenum-rated cable for runs inside walls or ceilings. MTP cabling is an excellent choice for migrating from legacy 1G/10G infrastructures to 40G/100G environments. Use an MTP-to-LC breakout to convert a single MTP run into 12LC connections, or employ the 12-strand MTP as a high-density trunk on your network backbone to reduce cable volume and lower installation labor.
