Canon EOS R3 Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera Body — BSI Stacked CMOS, 30fps (4895C002)

The Canon EOS R3 introduces Canon’s first full-frame, back-illuminated stacked CMOS image sensor for the R-series, delivering much faster read-out speeds and greatly reduced "rolling shutter" distortion. Its sensor design enables electronic shutter operation that supports continuous shooting up to 30 fps with RAW capture and full autofocus in all auto-exposure modes, while still allowing Speedlite use when the electronic shutter is active. Autofocus and subject recognition are powered by Deep Learning technology, building on the advances of the EOS R5 and R6. The R3 improves face-, eye-, head-, and body-detection and adds vehicle recognition and tracking tailored for cars and motorcycles in motorsports situations. For rapid point selection, Eye Control AF lets you set the viewfinder focus point simply by looking at it, or define the starting point for the camera’s AF tracking. Designed for professional use, the EOS R3 uses a lightweight yet sturdy magnesium alloy shell and incorporates an integrated vertical grip reminiscent of Canon’s 1D-series handling. Durability and weather resistance are on par with the EOS-1D X Mark III. Power comes from the same Canon LP-E19 battery pack used in the EOS-1D X Mark III, and familiar operation is maintained with three primary input dials. Low-light and stabilization performance are exceptional: autofocus works down to EV -7 (or lower), and when paired with RF lenses that include Optical Image Stabilization, you can achieve up to 8 stops of Coordinated IS control. Video capabilities include high-quality 4K capture with Canon Log3, oversampled 4K, and internal RAW movie recording. AF tracking for people, animals, and motorsports subjects remains available while recording. Connectivity and controls are tailored for fast professional workflows: built-in Wired LAN and 5 GHz Wi‑Fi (11ac equivalent) support high-speed image transfer. The body also features a multi controller for AF-point selection and menu navigation plus a smart controller (as on the EOS-1D X Mark III) for quickly shifting AF points or defining Servo AF tracking start locations. A fully articulating, vari-angle touchscreen LCD simplifies composing from difficult angles and quick menu access. Finally, a new accessory shoe provides expanded options for data communication and power to support upcoming accessories.
