The Canon EOS R7 extends the EOS R mirrorless family into APS-C territory, combining a 32.5MP APS-C CMOS sensor with Canon's DIGIC X image processor. This pairing delivers a versatile balance of resolution, speed and low-light capability for both stills and video work. Designed for action shooters, the R7 can fire up to 30 fps using the silent electronic shutter or 15 fps with the mechanical shutter, with AF and AE calculated before each frame. Its Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system provides fast, reliable subject detection and tracking—ideal for sports and wildlife photography. Video creators get flexible recording options: 4K up to 60p, or 30p when oversampled from a 7K area of the sensor for enhanced detail, and Full HD at up to 120 fps for high-frame-rate slow motion. The sensor’s high-resolution design enables the 7K oversampling approach to improve sharpness and overall image quality. The DIGIC X processor—shared with the R3—powers high-speed continuous shooting and high-resolution video recording, and supports a native sensitivity range of ISO 100–32000, expandable to ISO 51200 for challenging lighting situations. Built-in stabilization is provided by a 5-axis In-Body Image Stabilizer (IBIS) capable of correcting up to 7 stops of camera shake when shooting handheld. When used together with lenses that feature optical image stabilization, the combined system can compensate for up to 8 stops of shake depending on the lens in use.
