Made for use with the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED VR, this circular polarizing filter cuts reflections from non-metallic surfaces like water and glass while improving color and contrast. An ultra-slim aluminum frame prevents vignetting yet still permits smooth rotation to set the desired polarization level; a nonslip upper rim simplifies installation, rotation and removal. The optical surface features double-sided, multi-layered coatings that are anti-oil, anti-dust, anti-soil and resistant to scratches and water. By arranging and filtering directionally polarized light perpendicular to reflected light, the CPL absorbs much of the unwanted glare, reduces haze in distant landscapes and produces more saturated, vivid colors—most effective when used at a 90° angle from the sun, and commonly employed to deepen blue skies and accentuate white clouds.
