Its ultra-thin aluminum frame minimizes vignetting yet still permits full rotation for precise polarization and level adjustments. A textured, nonslip upper rim makes mounting, turning and removal quick and secure. Both sides receive multi-layer coatings that resist oil, dust, soil, water and scratches. The CPL works by selectively filtering directionally polarized light perpendicular to reflected rays, absorbing much of the glare—clearing haze in distant scenes and producing richer, more saturated colors. For best results, position the filter so the subject is about 90° from the sun; the polarizing effect is strongest at that angle.
