This Circular Polarizing (CPL) filter is designed for use with the Olympus 50-200mm f/2.8-3.5 Zuiko Digital lens to cut reflections from non-metallic surfaces like water and glass while boosting color and contrast. It is particularly effective for deepening blue skies and making white clouds pop, reducing haze in distant landscapes for richer, more vivid tones. The strongest polarization effect occurs when shooting at a 90° angle from the sun. Built with an ultra-slim aluminum frame to prevent vignetting, the filter still allows smooth rotation for adjusting levels. A nonslip upper rim makes it easier to install, rotate and remove the filter without slipping. Optical surfaces feature double-sided, multi-layered coatings and are treated to be anti-oil, anti-dust, anti-soil, and both scratch & water resistant. The CPL works by arranging and filtering directionally polarized light perpendicular to reflected light, enabling the absorption of much of that unwanted reflected light for cleaner, clearer images.
