Made for the Nikon AF-S DX Micro-NIKKOR 40mm f/2.8G, this Circular CPL filter cuts unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces like water and glass while enhancing overall color and contrast. The ultra-slim aluminum frame is engineered to prevent vignetting yet still provides rotation capabilities for precise adjustment. A nonslip upper rim makes installation, rotation and removal fast and secure. The glass carries double-sided, multi-layered coatings that are anti-oil, anti-dust, anti-soil and scratch & water resistant. By arranging and filtering directionally polarized light perpendicularly to reflected light, the CPL allows absorption of much of that glare, clearing haze in distant landscapes and producing more vivid, saturated colors. It is especially effective at increasing contrast and saturation in blue skies and white clouds, with the strongest effect when used at a 90° angle from the sun.
