Designed for use with the IRIX 21mm f/1.4 Dragonfly K, this circular polarizer (CPL) reduces reflections from non-metallic surfaces like water, glass and similar materials while boosting color richness and contrast. The ultra-slim aluminum frame prevents vignetting and still allows full rotation for precise leveling and composition. A nonslip upper rim makes mounting, turning and removal quick and secure. Optical performance is enhanced by double-sided, multi-layered coatings that are anti-oil, anti-dust, anti-soil, scratch & water resistant. CPL operation works by aligning and filtering directionally polarized light perpendicular to reflected light so much of the unwanted glare is absorbed — clearing haze in distant scenes and producing more saturated, vivid colors. For the strongest effect, use the filter when your subject is at a 90° angle from the sun; rotating the filter adjusts the degree of polarization, which is especially effective for deepening blue skies and intensifying cloud contrast.
