Made for the Pentax HD PENTAX D FA 150-450mm f/4.5-5.6 DC AW lens, this circular polarizing (CPL) filter features an ultra-slim aluminum frame that prevents vignetting while still allowing smooth rotation for leveling and exposure adjustments. A nonslip upper rim simplifies mounting, rotating and removal. The optical surfaces are finished with double-sided, multi-layered coatings and are anti-oil, anti-dust, anti-soil, scratch & water resistant. The CPL cuts unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water, glass, etc., and boosts color and contrast — especially increasing saturation and contrast in blue skies and white clouds. By arranging and filtering directionally polarized light perpendicular to reflected light, the filter absorbs much of those reflections, reducing haze in distant landscapes and rendering more saturated, vivid colors. The effect is strongest when used at a 90° angle from the sun.
