Autumn Carnation Encore Azalea is a dense mid-sized evergreen azalea shrub with small dark green leaves that gain a purple tinge in winter. This versatile plant produces bright pink ruffled semi-double flowers that first bloom in mid-spring and rebloom all season until frost. Autumn Carnation Encore Azalea prefers partial sun with acidic, rich, well-drained soils and is an excellent pollination and butterfly attractor. This azalea is more sun and drought tolerant when established than most azaleas, with a height and spread of 4-5 feet and a spacing of 5 feet. Autumn Carnation Encore Azalea is hardy in USDA Hardiness Zones 6-9 and thrives in full sun or partial sun conditions.
