This PolyMem Max foam dressing is a higher profile and super thick version of the original PolyMem, manufactured by Ferris MFG. It contains all the same wound healing agents as PolyMem, but is 60% more absorbent, providing the qualities necessary for optimal healing of moderately to heavily exudating wounds. The hydrophilic membrane in this dressing contains a cleanser, a moisturizer, and a superabsorbent starch copolymer, which wicks away up to ten times its weight in exudate. The dressing also contains a mild wound cleansing agent that is activated by moisture and gradually released into the wound bed, as well as glycerin to keep the dressing from adhering to the wound and to reduce odor, conserve living fat cells, reduce hypergranulation, soothe traumatized tissues, and support autolytic debridement. This dressing has effective, antimicrobial release for the full wear time and kills 99.9% of all bacteria and fungi tested. The dressing absorbs at least 10 times its own weight in exudate, helping to extend the time between dressing changes, reduce the number of dressing changes, and save time and money.
