Overview: The GA-490 is a rugged, high-performance active loop antenna built from metal and ABS for reliable reception across many bands. It delivers notably strong shortwave performance and works well on FM when used as a passive antenna. Paired with an S DR or Malachite receiver, it serves as a full-band receiving antenna for broad-spectrum monitoring including FM, medium wave, short wave and aviation bands. For best results install outdoors or on a balcony, away from large structures or other obstructions. Design & connectivity: The antenna uses shielded RG174 feeder cable and matched connectors; with the supplied adapters it can be connected to a variety of radios. The kit is suitable for open-air installation (balcony or outdoor) and includes support hardware for mounting the 50 cm/19.7 inches loop.
