The Glow ArcLight II Curved Reflector is engineered to produce a continuous, radiant catchlight that enhances beauty and fashion photography. Its curved surface concentrates the main light source and evens the catchlight into a continuous band, creating the distinct arc reflection in the eye that is the hallmark of this beauty reflector. Compared to conventional straight silver cards, the ArcLight II’s contour more effectively sculpts light so eyes sparkle, fine lines soften, textures recede, and skin appears luminous — often without additional light sources. A modeling light-equipped strobe is useful for previewing and positioning both the primary light and the reflector. For reliable results: place the ArcLight II centered beneath the subject so the source light hits the arc at an incident angle equal to the source, producing a U-shaped catchlight in the iris. Use a 48 to 60" wide softbox (or a wide umbrella) centered above and in front of the subject about 3 feet away; tilt the main light to achieve a gentle, flattering wash across the face.
