The GPSMAP 78sc is a handheld navigation unit preloaded with BlueChart® g2 coastal charts plus a worldwide basemap with imagery — a great choice for boating and other outdoor activities. It includes a 3-axis, tilt-compensated electronic compass that provides a heading even when the unit is stationary and not held level. A high-sensitivity, WAAS-enabled GPS receiver combined with HotFix™ satellite prediction delivers fast, accurate position fixes and helps maintain satellite lock in heavy cover and deep canyons. You can wirelessly share waypoints, tracks, routes and geocaches with other compatible devices. Expandable mapping options are available via microSD card, with a wide selection of marine, topographic and road maps. The unit also supports geocaching GPX files so you can download caches and their details directly to the device.
