Investigating Ecological Succession Kit

Grades 9-12 Students model how changing conditions can result in a new ecosystem and how, in some cases, these changes follow a general pattern called succession Students develop model ecosystems using a hay infusion, protist cultures, and algae cultures Then students collect evidence using the models to construct an explanation for the changes that occur in biotic and abiotic factors within their ecosystems.
