Purpose-built for marine use, the JL Audio M3-770X-S-Gm-i coaxial speakers deliver high-output performance at a more accessible price than the top-tier M6 line. The oversized 7.7-inch (196 mm) woofer increases efficiency, allowing these speakers to reproduce louder, cleaner sound at high volumes compared with smaller designs. The woofer is optimized to work into a large airspace (minimum 2 cu. ft. / 57 l); installing the system in a smaller enclosure will reduce its low-frequency performance. High frequencies are handled by a 0.75-inch pure silk dome tweeter that has been specially treated for marine environments—silk provides light weight, excellent damping, and a smooth response. The Sport grille includes an integrated LED lighting assembly engineered to evenly illuminate the woofer cone area for a striking visual effect; add an optional RGB controller to access thousands of color combinations. Power handling and recommendations: Continuous Power Handling (RMS) 70 W. Although the M3-770X can operate with as little as 20 W per channel, JL Audio recommends 75–100 W of continuous amplifier power per channel for best sonic results.
