Powerful 8.8-inch (224 mm) marine coaxial speakers from JL Audio, model M6-880X-S-GmTi-i, delivering 125 W nominal into 4 Ω. These larger-diameter coaxials provide substantially more low-frequency output than smaller designs — offering 36% more cone area and nearly double the excursion compared to the 7.7-inch M6-770X. The result is up to +6 dB greater bass output; the mid-bass is so robust these speakers can perform without a subwoofer, and when teamed with a sub they produce superior dynamics and impact. High-frequency performance is handled by an oversized 1.25-inch silk-dome tweeter engineered to play louder, cleaner and extend lower to blend smoothly with the 8.8-inch woofer. A multi-order, true 2-way passive crossover is integrated and mounted inside the woofer chassis for protection against vibration and corrosion, and an automatic tweeter protection circuit reduces the risk of tweeter damage. Although the M6-880X will operate on as little as 50 W per channel, JL Audio recommends amplifiers capable of 50–250 W of continuous power per channel for best results. The patent-pending Transflective™ RGB LED system casts a smooth, selectable glow through the woofer cone; adding an optional RGB controller unlocks thousands of color combinations. These speakers feature a Gray Metallic trim ring and Titanium Sport grille, are sold as a pair, and are produced in JL Audio’s Miramar, Florida factory using global components and materials. Professional installation is strongly recommended.
