Nonmetallic-sheathed (NM) electrical cable consists of insulated conductors bundled inside a protective thermoplastic outer jacket, providing a flexible, general-purpose wiring solution. Suited for dry indoor installations—walls, ceilings and attics—it’s commonly used for residential and light commercial branch-circuit wiring. Install with NM-compatible connectors and fittings; not recommended for permanently wet locations.
