Overview: The Rockville Lux 658 is a premium hi-fi tower speaker, built in Vietnam and expertly engineered in the USA. Each tower features two 6.5" woofers and a 1" silk dome tweeter arranged in a time-aligned waveguide for even dispersion and refined imaging. Drivers & Motor Structure: Each woofer is a 6.5" driver (2pcs per cabinet) with a PP-coated paper cone and rubber surround. Every woofer uses a 15 oz main magnet plus a secondary 10 oz sub-magnet in a 1" voice coil. The high-power voice coil is suspended in a ferrite magnet motor and mounted in a narrow-profile steel basket matched to the enclosure. The 1" silk dome tweeter employs a Neodymium magnet and a custom time-aligned waveguide horn to optimize off-axis performance. Power, Impedance & Crossover: Power handling is rated at 160 Watts RMS with 640W peak capability. Impedance: 8 Ohms version (4 Ohm available in our store). A built-in 2nd order 2-way crossover has been specifically engineered to deliver the intended balance and frequency transition for this design. Cabinet & Acoustic Design: The cabinet is constructed from top-quality MDF and finished in a Black Ash vinyl wood-grain veneer. A vented enclosure design adds extra low-frequency punch. The grille is detachable, offering two distinct aesthetic options: with or without the grill. Connections & Feet: Five-way binding post terminals accept banana plugs, bare wire, spade terminals and more. The speaker sits on a floating base with pre-installed rubber isolation feet that are adjustable for uneven floors.
