Overview: The Rockville Lux 658 Dark Wood Ash Hi‑Fi tower speaker pairs American engineering with Vietnamese manufacturing—Made In Vietnam and Expertly Engineered in USA. Designed for home theater and high-fidelity listening, each cabinet delivers 160 Watts RMS (640W peak) into 8 Ohms. Drivers and Motor Structure: Each speaker houses two 6.5" woofers (2pcs x 6.5") featuring a PP coated paper cone with rubber surround. Each woofer uses a 15 oz main magnet plus a second sub-magnet (10 oz) integrated around a 1" voice coil. The high-power voice coil is suspended in a ferrite magnet motor and mounted on a narrow-profile steel basket tailored to the enclosure. A 1" silk dome tweeter with Neodymium magnet sits on a custom time-aligned waveguide horn to improve dispersion and imaging. Crossover and Impedance: A built-in 2nd order 2-way crossover (Crossover frequency point was specifically engineered to provide optimal performance for this speaker) splits frequencies for balanced output. Cabinet and Finish: The enclosure is constructed from top quality MDF sheet and finished in a vinyl wood grain that complements the Dark Wood Ash color. The speaker includes a detachable grill so it presents beautifully with or without it. The vented enclosure design provides added low-frequency punch. The speaker sits on a floating base with pre-installed rubber isolation feet that are adjustable to compensate for uneven floors.
