Its water resistant construction makes it suitable for both indoor and outdoor settings. This rug has no backing; a rug pad (sold separately) is recommended to prevent shifting and sliding. Care and maintenance: Vacuum regularly (preferably with a vacuum that does not have beater bars) and spot clean as needed. For difficult stains, professional rug cleaning is advised. To reduce uneven wear from foot traffic and furniture, rotate the rug every 3-6 months and use rug protectors under the legs of heavy furniture to avoid flattening the pile.
