3M Scotch 2228 Rubber Mastic Tape is a highly conformable self-fusing rubber electrical insulating and sealing tape designed for use in electrical insulation and moisture sealing applications. It is composed of an ethylene-propylene rubber (EPR) backing coated with a robust temperature-stable mastic adhesive on a liner, making it well suited for its intended use in both indoor and weather-exposed outdoor areas, including instances where resistance to UV exposure is necessary. The 65-mil thickness allows for quick application build-up and makes padding over irregular connections simple. RoHS 2011/65/EU Compliant. UL recognized component for applications up to 130 degrees C (266 degrees F). Carrier/Backing: rubber. Adhesive: butyl rubber. Release Liner: paper. Thickness: 65 mils (carrier, adhesive).
