This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These PCBs are intended for use in hard drive repair and data recovery. Most hard drive PCBs store unique calibration and configuration data in a ROM memory chip that is required for the drive to function correctly. That ROM data must be transferred to the replacement board or the new board reprogrammed with the correct data. If possible, the ROM chip can be physically moved to the new PCB; a local computer technician can usually perform that service. For customers spending $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service — either transplanting the ROM chip onto the replacement PCB or reprogramming the board with the proper ROM data.
