This listing includes the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the actual Seagate hard drive is not included. Because we stock a large number of similar PCBs, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These circuit boards are intended for HDD repair and data recovery work. Most Seagate PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM "memory" chip that is required for the drive to function; that chip or its ROM data must be moved or copied to the replacement board. If a chip transplant is possible, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For customers spending $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — we will either transplant the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogram the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
