You are purchasing the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the drive is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery work. Before ordering, confirm that a replacement board will resolve your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most Seagate PCBs contain a unique ROM "memory" chip whose contents are required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transplant. For purchases of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
