Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the item you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These boards are intended for hard drive repair and data recovery work. Many Seagate PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM “memory” chip that is required for the drive to operate correctly; that ROM or its data must be migrated or reprogrammed onto the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer.
