This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the item you receive may differ slightly from the photo. The board is intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery situations. Before purchasing, confirm whether a replacement PCB will resolve your drive’s problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many Seagate PCBs store unique drive-specific data in a ROM (memory) chip; that ROM data is required for correct drive operation and must be copied to the replacement board or the ROM chip relocated. If the ROM chip can be physically transferred, a local computer technician can usually perform that procedure. For customers spending $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
