This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive is not included. Because we carry a large inventory, the exact PCB you receive may differ slightly from the pictured unit. Intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery, this board should be used only after verifying compatibility. Most hard drive PCBs include a ROM "memory" chip that contains drive-specific data required for proper operation; that ROM or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For customers spending $60 or more we provide a complimentary Adaptation Service, which covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
