This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive itself is NOT included. Because we stock a large number of replacement PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Purpose: Designed for hard drive repair and data recovery tasks. Important technical note: Most Seagate PCBs store unique drive-specific data in the ROM (memory) chip. That ROM data is required for the drive to function properly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board or the new board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data. If the ROM chip can be physically moved to the replacement board, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For customers spending $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that covers either moving the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the proper ROM data.
