This fiber optic converter carries serial traffic from one device over long distances: 1 channel bi-directional RS232 (Full Duplex), 1 channel bi-directional RS422 (Full Duplex) and 2 channels bi-directional RS485 (Half Duplex). It operates over 1 Single-mode Fiber or Multi-mode Fiber and supports long-reach links of 20 Kilometers(6.20 Miles) on Single-mode Fiber or up to 2 Km on Multi-mode Fiber. Protocol support details: RS-422 (4 wire only); RS-485 in 4 wire mode; RS-232 in 3 wire mode. The unit is designed for quick installation — Plug and Play operation requires no optical adjustments — and can be deployed as a stand-alone device or mounted in a rack. Front-panel LEDs provide immediate visual feedback of the converter’s operating status. Includes SFP module support for fiber interface flexibility.
