At its core is a 26.0MP back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor paired with the BIONZ XR processor, a combination first used in the FX30, enabling both high-resolution stills and advanced video workflows. This platform supports 10-bit UHD 4K capture at up to 120 fps, UHD 4K oversampled from 6K for cleaner footage, and a continuous stills rate of 11 fps with AF and AE, plus bursts of up to 59 compressed raw images. The back-illuminated sensor design raises resolution without compromising sensitivity, and the native ISO range of 100-32000 (expandable to ISO50-102400 for stills) provides low-light performance with minimal noise and more than 14 stops of dynamic range. An integrated AI Processing Unit enhances autofocus and image stabilization, delivering reliable operation across varied shooting scenarios. Autofocus coverage is extensive, with 759 phase detection points in stills mode and 495 points in video mode that span 93% of the frame, all benefiting from AI-powered subject recognition and real-time tracking.
