This BSI design accelerates data transfer to enable 14-bit high-resolution stills and supports a native sensitivity range of ISO 100-51200, which can be expanded to ISO 50-204800. Using the full width of the full-frame sensor, the a7 III records internal UHD 4K video with an extended dynamic range. The BIONZ X, together with a high-speed front-end LSI, speeds processing and enables capture of up to a 15-stop dynamic range at low sensitivities. For action and continuous shooting needs, the sensor/processor pairing provides up to 10 fps continuous shooting at full resolution, sustaining bursts of up to 177 consecutive frames. Connectivity and handling are practical for field use, with built-in Wi‑Fi/NFC, USB Type-C, weather sealing, and a design focused on reliable operation.
