Built around a stacked 1" Exmor RS CMOS sensor, this camcorder captures UHD 4K (3840 x 2160) up to 30p and offers a Zeiss 12x optical zoom with 18x Clear Image Zoom. An OLED viewfinder and a 3.5" touchscreen LCD provide flexible monitoring and intuitive control. Recording and image options: the PXW-Z90V records 4K in XAVC Long at 4:2:0 and records HD in XAVC Long at 4:2:2 10-bit. It can also record MPEG HD at 4:2:2 (requires optional license key). For expanded creative control, S-Log3/S-Gamut3 is available, and the camcorder supports 4K HDR using Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG). Connectivity and streaming: the camera includes 3G-SDI output and built-in 2.4/5 GHz wireless for multi-streaming. It supports streaming via RTMP/RTMPS protocols and offers FTP options for file transfer. Autofocus and operation: Sony’s Fast Hybrid AF combines high-density placement of autofocus points with a newly developed AF algorithm for precise focusing and subject tracking — especially useful for single-operator 4K work. Phase-detection autofocus (AF) frames appear in movie recording mode so you can monitor focus, and the 3.5" touchscreen lets you quickly shift focus between subjects.
