Built from T6061 aerospace grade aluminum, the DT-03S weighs just 12.7oz(363g) while supporting heavy glass with a load capacity of 33lb(15Kgs). It’s designed for use with long telephoto lenses for fast-action shooting and birding. The head features dual-lock knobs on both left and right sides so you can lock either side independently or both together; engaging both locks provides maximum clamping force, optimal balance and increased service life. A 360° panning base rotates smoothly and can be locked to prevent unintended movement that could affect focus. The base includes a scale mark to help line up shots when creating panoramas. Controls use elongated knobs for improved grip and easier handling; both tilt knobs and the panning base screw-knob incorporate a ratchet mechanism to simplify adjustments and avoid interference with adjacent components. The head uses an SAC-60 screw-knob clamp to ensure better compatibility with Arca-Swiss style quick-release plates of varying tolerances. The mounting hole at the head’s base follows Arca standard, allowing the clamp to be swapped if desired. The clamp’s fore-aft tilt range is 180 degrees and it can rotate 360 degrees horizontally. The package includes a DPG-80DRL dedicated QR plate for telephoto lenses, compatible with most telephoto lenses on the market. A raised lip on one side of the plate helps prevent slippage, and safety stop screws at the base guard against accidental camera drops.
