The Sony a7C II pairs an improved fullframe sensor with higher resolution and upgraded autofocus to produce outstanding stills and video. Built-in image stabilization delivers seven stops of shake compensation, supported by an advanced AI processing unit that boosts both AF performance and stabilization. Focusing system details: 759 phase detection points in stills mode and 495 points in video mode, together covering 94% of the image area; AI-powered subject recognition and real-time tracking keep moving subjects locked on. Exposure and color accuracy have been improved with a new autoexposure algorithm featuring Human Pose Estimation (improves exposure accuracy by 20%) and an enhanced auto white balance for difficult lighting. Creative and precision tools include a focus bracketing mode capable of up to 299 images with sequentially shifted focus points, plus focus breathing compensation, autofocus assist, focus mapping, and focus peaking. Low-light focus remains reliable down to EV 4.0. Lens communication has been optimized to maintain stable framing before capture, and the body is compatible with adapted lenses without sacrificing image quality.
