For proper operation simply attach the unit to a pump. Integrated 13W UV-C lamp with three timing modes: The built-in 13W UV-C light helps reduce pathogens and algae; three timing settings let you balance disinfection performance and bulb life. Multi-stage mechanical and biological filtration: Four sponges of differing densities trap suspended solids and sediment, while the included bio ball provides ample surface area for nitrifying bacteria colonization. Easy backwash and maintenance: A top-mounted switch initiates backwashing to flush internal debris quickly. Cleaning is further simplified by the crank handle and internal cleaning rod, and the floating turbidity indicator on the lid signals when sponge replacement or cleaning is needed. Replaceable parts and durable construction: Both the filter sponge and UV bulb are user-replaceable. The housing is molded from reinforced PP for insulation and resistance to sunlight, water and aging.
