This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB, logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the unit you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. To confirm a replacement PCB will resolve your issue, please follow our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive circuit boards store unique calibration and configuration data in a ROM "memory" chip; that information is required for proper drive operation. The ROM chip itself, or its data, must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved to the new PCB, a local computer technician can typically perform the transfer. For customers spending $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either moving the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
