This listing is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — no HDD is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Important: many WD PCBs store unique parameters in a ROM chip (sometimes called a "memory" chip). That ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly and must be transferred or programmed onto the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — either relocating the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
