Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the actual board you receive may vary slightly from the pictured item. Intended use: HDD repair and data recovery. Most replacement boards contain unique information in a ROM 'memory' chip that is essential for correct drive operation. That ROM chip, or its data, must be transferred to the new circuit board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transfer. For customers with a purchase of $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
