Sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive is not included. Because we keep a large inventory, the actual PCB you receive may vary slightly from the photo. This replacement board is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery use. Before ordering, confirm that replacing the PCB will resolve your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs contain unique manufacturer data stored in a ROM (memory) chip; that data is required for the drive to operate properly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be moved to the new PCB, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transfer. For customers who purchase $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
