This sale includes the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large quantity of these PCBs, the unit you receive may differ slightly in appearance from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Before ordering, confirm that a replacement PCB is likely to resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify part compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs hold unique configuration data on a ROM ("memory") chip; that information is required for the drive to work correctly. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For customers who spend $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service: we will either move the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogram the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
